Our Mission is to be an advocate for and promote the foster care community through support and education of families to meet their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.

Building Our Families was started with Carol Weber and Living Word Church in 2018. A board was formed of local community members, and they requested funds from other churches and groups to help support their mission. Currently we have expanded our board and want to invite others to join us.

A traumatic event for children is being removed from their families and placed into the foster care system. The child is deeply affected by the losses and inability to understand, leaving them with a future that can be darkly affected and set them on a path of higher risk for impaired neurodevelopment, psychiatric problems, abuse, poverty, homelessness, incarceration, suicide, and early death.

Building Our Families is an innovative program that brings together supportive services in a community to strengthen families and protect the children that are most vulnerable to abuse & neglect.

BOF helps to ensure the children feel safe, supported, and whole within their foster families.
